Strength

Strength exercises are an important form of exercise for those who wish to improve their muscular strength, endurance, and size. Strength training is also known as weightlifting or resistance training.
Strength exercises require the use of resistance to develop muscles and strength. This is typically in the form of dumbbells, barbells, or weight stacks. In the case of bodyweight exercises, a person's own body supplies this resistive force.
Strength training has been shown to increase physical performance for activities such as jumping, throwing, kicking, and most other sports.
Some types of strength exercises include weight lifting, yoga, Pilates, T'ai Chi, and many more.
