Rowing is a type of low-impact exercise that offers health benefits such as aerobic conditioning, increased metabolism, and weight loss.

Rowing can also help reduce total body fat while increasing lean muscle mass, so you get the health benefits of aerobic exercise along with the muscle-building potential of anaerobic exercises.

There are 2 main types of rowing machines: air and water rowers. Air rowers use paddles to generate resistance while you pull against the straps; they provide a more intense workout than water machines but are also less natural.

Water rowers use paddles that turn in an insulated tank filled with water; they provide a smoother action than air rowers and because the resistance is generated by the pull against the water, they’re quieter than air machines.

They both offer adjustable resistance to allow you to change the intensity of workouts as you get fitter and stronger.
