Respiratory Health Issues
There are many respiratory health issues that can affect people of all ages, but children and adolescents are especially vulnerable.
Some of the most common respiratory problems include asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Asthma is a condition in which the airways become inflamed and narrow, making it difficult to breathe.
Chronic bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from the lungs. Emphysema is a condition in which the air sacs in the lungs are damaged, making it difficult to breathe.
These conditions can be brought on by exposure to environmental toxins, allergens, or infections. Genetics may also play a role in some cases.
While many respiratory problems can be managed with medication and lifestyle changes, some can lead to serious complications or in severe cases, even death.
It is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of respiratory illness so that you can seek treatment early.
