After an injury, it is crucial to give your knee the time it needs to recover properly. Depending on the severity of the injury, this could mean anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
Here are a few tips to help you speed up the knee recovery process:
Rest: This may seem like an obvious one, but it is important to give your knee a break from any activity that could aggravate the injury. If you are able to, elevate your leg and apply ice to the area for 20 minutes at a time.
Compression: Wearing a compression brace or sleeve can help to reduce swelling and support the knee.
Exercise: Once the pain has subsided, you can begin doing some gentle exercises to strengthen your knee.
