Pink eye is a common condition that is caused by an infection of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye and the inside of the eyelid. When this tissue becomes irritated or infected, it can cause pink eye.

Pink eye is a very common condition, and it can be caused by a number of different things, including bacteria, viruses, allergies, or even irritants like dust or smoke. It is often contagious and can spread quickly from person to person.

Symptoms of pink eye include redness, itching, burning, and discharge from the eye. Most cases of pink eye are mild and will resolve on their own within a few days.

However, some cases can be more serious and may require treatment from a doctor. Treatment for pink eye usually includes antibiotics or antiviral medications.
